[starttext]
Napoleon: Total War contains four campaigns, two of which follow Napoleon's early military career. The first career event is the Italian campaign of 1796, while the second is the French invasion of Egypt in 1798. Both feature smaller, optional missions that help drive the story forward. The major French campaign, however, is the "The Mastery of Europe," which resembles the holistic modes of previous Total War games. Conversely, the "Campaigns of the Coalition" allows players to govern Great Britain, Russia, Prussia or the Austrian Empire and attempt to defeat Napoleonic France on the same map. Each major campaign requires players to obtain a certain number of territories, although the latter also demands that the French are defeated.
Many of Napoleon's major battles such as Austerlitz, Trafalgar, and Waterloo are available as historical scenarios, separate from the campaign. A new physics system has been implemented for the real-time battles, so that when cannon balls hit the ground, for instance, they leave impact craters. Mike Simpson from The Creative Assembly has reported that there are a number of environmental factors that affect battlefield tactics: gunpowder backfires when it rains, and the elevation of landscape affects the range of munitions. Individuals within a unit now vary to a greater degree, and are no longer as generic as in previous titles in the series.[4] The campaign map is narrower in focus, but also more detailed than in Empire: Total War. Turns in Napoleon: Total War are only 2 weeks, while previous titles sported 6 month turns. Additionally the game's Artificial Intelligence system has been modified.[5]
In addition, Napoleon: Total War contains several new multiplayer features, such as a uniform editor and a voice command utility to speak to other players via Steam. Unlike previous Total War titles, there is now the option for a "drop-in" multiplayer campaign mode: when playing a campaign against the computer, it is possible to allow another user to join via a lobby and take control.

[starttext] The game is set in America, 1908; it focuses around a former outlaw, John Marston. After Marston retires from his criminal career, he starts a family and begins to live a quiet life on the farm. That all ends when he is blackmailed by U.S. government agent Edgar Ross to ride across the American Frontiers and help bring in the rule of law. Marston has been given the primary directive of killing or capturing his former gang members, which includes his old 'friend' and gang leader Bill Williamson. Along the way Marston is given work as a bounty hunter by Marshal Leigh Johnson and his deputies, and other assistance in tracking down William, a mutual objective between them. John meets many other characters- some skirting the moral gray line- including a female rancher named Bonnie McFarlane, who is being tormented by a group of locals, and D.S MacKenna who wants to turn the region New Austin into the next Hollywood. Marston eventually crosses the Mexican border in his search for Williamson. He is introduced to the leader of a revolt known as Abraham Reyes, a Mexican rebel soldier and would-be Presidente of Mexico, and former teacher Luisa Fortuna, both requiring his assistance in setting the foundations of a revolution against the Mexican Army in 1910.

The game will use open world gameplay similar to the Grand Theft Auto series with sandbox environments and a free-roaming ability. The environments will include frontier towns, prairies, and mountain passes. The game will also feature over 40 different types of animals that can be hunted including cattle, bison, pigs, bears, cougars, rattlesnakes, deer, wolves, coyotes, vultures and many more.[3][endtext]

[starttext] Perfect Dark is a first-person shooter video game originally released for the Nintendo 64 in 2000. The game was developed by Rare, creators of the multimillion-selling GoldenEye 007, an earlier first-person shooter with which Perfect Dark shares many gameplay features. It was branded as a RARE published game in North America and Europe, although Nintendo distributed and marketed the title. This game is also considered the spiritual successor to GoldenEye 007. The game was first released in Canada and the United States in May 2000, where it was greeted with critical acclaim; PAL and NTSC-J releases followed soon afterwards. An Xbox Live Arcade port was announced in 2009 and will be available on March 17, 2010.

The game features a single-player mode consisting of seventeen missions in which the player assumes the role of special agent Joanna Dark, an operative for the fictional Carrington Institute, as she attempts to stop a conspiracy by rival corporation dataDyne. It also includes a range of multiplayer options, including co-operative and "counter-operative" modes in addition to traditional deathmatch settings. Technically, it is one of the most advanced games developed for the N64, with optional high-resolution graphics and Dolby Surround Sound.

In September 2000, a separate game starring agent Joanna Dark, also titled Perfect Dark, was released for the Game Boy Color. Although set in the same universe, it follows a separate storyline. With the use of the Transfer Pak, the Game Boy game allows certain features within the Nintendo 64 version to be unlocked. Perfect Dark Zero, a prequel to Perfect Dark also developed by Rare, was a launch title for the Xbox 360 in 2005. Perfect Dark: Initial Vector, a novel by Greg Rucka, was published later that year. A second novel, Perfect Dark: Second Front, followed in 2007. A series of comics titled Perfect Dark: Janus' Tears was released between 2006 and 2007, spanning the story between these two novels.[endtext]

Resident Evil 5 features similar gameplay to Resident Evil 4, with context-sensitive controls and dynamic cut scenes also making a return.
The player can control Chris Redfield or Sheva Alomar in a similar fashion to Leon S. Kennedy in Resident Evil 4,[13] with the same over-the-shoulder perspective.[14] Once again, the game's environment plays a significant role.[13] The Mercenaries minigame, featured in previous Resident Evil games, is present in Resident Evil 5.[15] At launch, the multiplayer in the minigame was offline only, but a launch day patch gave the game online multiplayer.[16]
The game features new types of enemies called "Majini", meaning evil spirit in Swahili.[17] Furthermore, they are different from the previous ganados.[13] The number of weapon variations has been greatly increased compared to the previous games in the series; there are now several varieties of the handgun, shotgun, submachine gun and rifle to choose from.[18] Like inventory systems in previous Resident Evil titles outbreak and outbreak 2, the player can only equip weapons and items in the midst of gameplay, as opposed to accessing an inventory menu by pausing the game.
The game features some online elements.[19] Resident Evil 5's main story mode can be played with two players, in a co-operative online mode. The feature will allow players to enter or leave anytime during the game. Players will not always stick together, and can be separated at points during the gameplay.[15] An offline co-op mode is also in the game with the same co-op experience offered by the online co-op mode, only with two local players controlling the action in split screen.[20]

FIFA 10 is the second version of the game to sponsor a football club. Along with football magazine FourFourTwo, FIFA 10 is the co-sponsor of English League One club Swindon Town. The FIFA 10 logo appears on the front of the team's away shirt and on the back of the home shirt.[8][9] It is the first FIFA game to do so since FIFA 07, which sponsored Accrington Stanley for the 2007–08 season.[10][endtext]

[starttext]
Dante's Inferno is an action-adventure where players take a third-person control of Dante, the game's protagonist, and engage heavily in fast-paced combat, platforming and environment-based puzzles. In the game, Dante's primary weapon is a Death's Scythe that can be used in a series of combination attacks and finishing moves, and his secondary weapon is a Holy Cross that fires a volley of energy as a projectile attack. In addition, Dante can use numerous magic based attacks and abilities channeled from a mana pool to help in combat, many of which are obtained as the game progresses. Another form of combat available to the character is an ability to take control of a large scale demon capable of dealing devastating attacks after its rider has been killed, a tactic often times required to overcome a hazard or obstacle. A quick time event system is used when attempting to discharge the demon of its master and during boss fights, where players must press the highlighted button on screen in order to continue the chain of attacks, or be countered and wounded otherwise.
Many attack combinations and abilities can be unlocked and/or upgraded in exchange for souls, an in-game currency that is collected upon defeating enemies or locating soul fountains. Each of these purchasable skills fall into two categories; into Holy (represented by blue orbs) and Unholy (represented by red orbs) skill trees. At the beginning of the game, both skill trees are equal in power, but as Dante gains more Holy and Unholy experience in his fights more Holy and Unholy abilities become available for purchase. That experience is collected through the game's "Punish or Absolve" system, where enemies upon defeat are either be punished and dismembered by Death's Scythe or absolved and saved with the Holy Cross. Much experience can also be accumulated in punishing or absolving the damned souls of many famous figures in history that appear in Dante Aligheri's original The Divine Comedy — upon choosing their fates, players enter a mini game where the characters' "sins" move towards the center of the screen, pressing required action symbols once the sin in place. Players are rewarded with more souls and experience the more collected.
There is plenty of platforming in the combat including swinging between ropes, climbing walls, and the environment-based puzzle sequences can impair progress. In addition, there are numerous hidden passages where biblical relics can be found and equipped to improve a certain ability of Dante's.

[starttext] BioShock is a first-person shooter video game developed by Irrational Games[15]—then under the name 2K Boston/2K Australia—and designed by Ken Levine. It was released for the Windows operating system and Xbox 360 video game console on 21 August 2007 in North America, and three days later in Europe and Australia.[16] A PlayStation 3 version of the game, which was developed by 2K Marin, was released internationally on 17 October 2008 and in North America on 21 October 2008[17] with some additional features.[1] The game was also released for the Mac OS X operating system on October 7, 2009.[18] A version of the game for mobile platforms is currently being developed by IG Fun.[19] A sequel, BioShock 2, was released on February 9, 2010.

Set in an alternate history 1960, the game places the player in the role of a plane crash survivor named Jack, who must explore the underwater city of Rapture, and survive attacks by the mutated beings and mechanical drones that populate it. The game incorporates elements found in role-playing and survival games, and is described by the developers and Levine as a "spiritual successor" to their previous titles in the System Shock series.[20][21] The game received overwhelmingly positive reviews, which praised its "morality-based" storyline, immersive environment and Ayn Rand-inspired dystopian back-story.[22][endtext]

[starttext]
Players can migrate their savegames from Fable II to Fable III. This allows the player's actions from Fable II to impact on the world of Fable III as their parent in the third game is their Hero from the second game. This was hinted at in the Fable II downloadable content See the Future.[2]
While the player is attempting to overthrow the current king of Albion, they need to gather support from the people. However, depending on the amount of control the tyrant exerts over a region, initial support can be hard to gather. To encourage citizens to join the revolution, the player must make promises to improve their lives when they have the throne. These promises can affect anything from a single individual's life to affecting the entire population or a class group within it. After the player has gained control of the crown, they have the opportunity to carry out or ignore the promises they made that allowed them to achieve their position.[2]
As Peter Molyneux, Lionhead's Creative Director, explains:
The really strange thing about leadership is that there's a common thread that has existed for centuries in all cultures. Whenever politicians, rebels or juntas are climbing to power they make promises, and very often these promises are not delivered on. We want to give a sense of that, so as you're building up your forces, as you're being a rebel, you will find this opportunity to promise things to get more power. Then after you've become leader, the opportunity to live on those promises has real consequences.
When queried over how the game would work after the player had assumed control of Albion, Molyneux was quick to deny that the game would become a Theme Park-style management game and that Lionhead would not be returning to its roots making strategy games.[2]
Molyneux explained a new mechanic called "judgements," started when the player grants their subjects an audience to hear their problems. Often these problems will be disputes with "muddied moral waters." If the player is impatient, they can make a quick decision to lock one party of the dispute in their dungeons, do nothing or reward one party with gold. If the player wants to become more informed, they can choose to journey to the scene of the crime itself and make a just (or purposefully unjust) decision on the matter. In addition to this, players have to make decisions about what promises they made in the early stages of the game they need to keep and give their full attention and what promises should be ignored. Molyneux's intention is to show that the great revolutionary heroes that have become mythologized aren't necessarily good rulers themselves. He asks, "If someone comes to you and begs for mercy, are you going to be the sort of tyrant who picks them up and throws them in the dungeon? Or are you going to be the sort who grabs them by the shoulders and gives them a big hug and shoves ten gold pieces in their hand?"[2]
There are rewards for being a self-serving ruler, including a treasury filled with gold piles that grow or diminish based on the player's wealth. The player's in-game family will attempt to pressure the player into selfishly taking money from Albion to maintain and upgrade their castle.[2]
The player is also tasked with dealing with how their society works on a day-to-day basis, such as how to handle crime, poverty and taxation. Another example is the choice to go to war. While Albion is only a single continent in a much-larger world, Fable III is the first game in the series to expand the playable areas beyond Albion's borders.[2]
Like the character-morphing that defines the series, where the player's character changes appearance based on his or her actions, growing beautiful or ugly based on good and evil actions respectively, Fable III expands that to location-morphing. If the player taxes a region heavily, the people will become visibly poorer, their buildings will start to fall into disrepair and the player will encounter hostility from them if he passes through the area. The example Lionhead gave was the town of Bowerstone: in the time since Fable II Albion has undergone the industrial revolution and Bowerstone has become "a mass of Victorian-era inspired churning industry," with the skyline being hugely affected by this. During the technological upheaval, however, crime, injustice and poverty have grown and the player can choose to eradicate it or let it continue unchecked. Regardless of their decisions, Bowerstone will change to reflect their choices.[2]
Molyneux has promised to remove a traditional RPG mechanic from Fable III, the emphasis being on removing "clunkiness" and making the game more accessible. The game also introduces two related systems known as "Expression Touch" and "Dynamic Touch." Expression Touch turns romantic relationships into a subtle journey that involves the player and their chosen partner becoming physically closer, rather than using the simplistic Expressions of the first two games. The system also applies to general interaction, such as embracing the player character's family or refusing to shake someone's hand. Dynamic Touch allows the player to lead someone by the hand to a location. Molyneux gave an example of a child trapped in a burning building. The player could go into the house and comfort the child with Expression Touch before using Dynamic Touch to carry the child to safety.[2]

[starttext] Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier[4] (previously known as Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon 4)[5] is a video game published by Ubisoft and due for release in 2010.[5] Excluding expansions, it is the fourth installment in the Ghost Recon series, and was announced to be in development by Ubisoft on January 22, 2009.[6] The game will be a futuristic take on the Ghost Recon series.

Initially, the title was revealed to be Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Predator by an OFLC release.[3] However in December 2009, "Ghost Recon: Future Soldier" was trademarked by Ubisoft, raising speculation that this could be the name for the upcoming Ghost Recon 4.[7] This was subsequently confirmed by an official announcement.[4]

While the release of Future Soldier was targeted for the 2009-2010 fiscal year,[6] Ubisoft later announced that the release date would be pushed back until the 2010-2011 fiscal year to "strengthen" its video game line-up.[8][endtext]

[starttext] The concept for Final Fantasy XIII's battle system is to maintain the strategic nature of command-based battles. The system stemmed from a desire to create battles similar to those found in Final Fantasy VII Advent Children.[10] Like those in Final Fantasy XII, enemies are integrated into the world environment. However, unlike Final Fantasy XII, battles do not take place in the same "dimension", instead there is a short transition and players are transported to a new battle screen, separate from the main playing world.[11] The Active Time Battle (ATB) system will return, but it will work differently from its predecessors. Users will be able to chain large numbers of commands together in order to achieve attack bonuses.[12][endtext]

[starttext] Lego Harry Potter is a Lego theme based on the films of the Harry Potter series. Models of important scenes, vehicles and characters were made for the first five films released. The first sets appeared in 2001, to coincide with the release of the first film Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in the United States). Subsequent sets were released alongside the new films, up until Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.

In January 2004, Lego owner and CEO Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen announced a change in direction for the company, which at the time was facing a DKK 1.4bn loss, and that the company would focus on core products and not "big, movie-related IP’s such as Harry Potter". [1] A week later, the company clarified that this did not mean any immediate "radical changes", and that the Harry Potter theme would continue. However, the theme was discontinued after 2007.

In June 2009, it was officially announced by LEGO that a video game, Lego Harry Potter: Years 1–4 is in production and will be released in May 2010.[1]

Warner Brothers and LEGO announced on February 12th, 2010 that 6 sets including Hogwarts Castle, Hagrid’s Hut, Hogwarts Express and Quidditch Match will be released in October 2010. These sets will have newly decorated minifigures including Luna Lovegood and Bellatrix Lestrange. Also announced was a LEGO Harry Potter board game that will be available in August.[2][endtext]

[starttext] While Street Fighter IV features models and backgrounds rendered in 3D, the gameplay remains on a traditional 2D plane, with the camera having freedom to move in 3D at certain times during fights, for dramatic effect. Producer Yoshinori Ono has stated that he wanted to keep the game closer to Street Fighter II. A new system called "Focus Attacks" ("Saving Attack" for the Japanese version) has been introduced, as well as Ultra moves. The traditional six-button control scheme returns, with new features and special moves integrated into the input system, mixing classic gameplay with additional innovations.[13]

Stephen Kleckner of 1UP.com has stated the game has a similar feel to Super Street Fighter II Turbo, but also has a few features from Street Fighter III 3rd Strike.[14] As in Street Fighter III, throwing is performed by pressing both light attack buttons, while pressing both heavy attack buttons performs the character's personal action or taunt. Pressing both medium attack buttons performs a character's focus strike. Dashes and quick standing are also in the game. C.Viper is the only character who can perform a high jump.[14]

It was intended that bonus rounds such as the car-smashing stage from earlier Street Fighter games would return. Ono later stated that the bonus stages would not be in the arcade game, citing the reason to be that the time players spend on bonus stages is time during which they have no chance of losing, which ultimately takes money from arcade operators.[15][16][endtext]

Napoleon: Total War is a turn-based strategy and real-time tactics video game released for the personal computer (PC), developed by The Creative Assembly and published by Sega. Napoleon was released in North America on 23 February 2010, and in Europe on 26 February. The game is the sixth stand-alone instalment in the Total War series, and focuses on the politics and major military campaigns at the beginning of the 19th century. Players assume the role of Napoleon Bonaparte, or one of his major rivals, on a turn-based campaign map and engage in the subsequent battles in real-time. As with its predecessor, Empire: Total War, which included a special United States storyline, Napoleon features a separate campaign that follows the general's early career.
Napoleon was released with several editions: the Standard Edition, Imperial Edition, and the Emperor's Edition. All boxed versions include the "Elite Regiment," a collection of five extra units, while the Imperial and Emperor's editions also feature the "Heroes of the Napoleonic Wars" pack, which consists of an additional ten.[2] The Emperor's Edition was released only in Australia and New Zealand, and is the only variant to include a 200mm statuette of the general and his field journal. Pre-orders made via the Steam content delivery system included another special unit: the Royal Scots Greys.[3] The French actor Stephane Cornicard provides voice-acting for Napoleon Bonaparte in the original English versions, as well as the German, French, and Spanish editions.

[starttext]
The game incorporates "origins" for each race and some classes. For example, a dwarf noble begins the game as part of the royal family in one of the dwarven cities, whereas the dwarf commoner origin story begins on the streets of the city. Origin stories determine the background of the player's character prior to the main events of the game's story, forming an introduction to the world while also comprising hours of play. Characters that the player meets during the origin story may reappear throughout the game, some as adversaries.[13]
There is no tracking of moral alignment as in previous BioWare games,[14] but the moral choices of the player will still affect the story throughout the game. The player will save the world regardless of choosing to be good or evil, but the decisions that the player makes in the process will change the game world accordingly – deciding who will become king, for example, and affecting nations and races and their places in the world. These decisions will also influence the companion NPCs, possibly causing an NPC to leave the party[15] or even attack the player if they disagree strongly with his or her actions.[16]
The game has been described as the spiritual successor to Baldur's Gate by BioWare co-CEO Ray Muzyka[17], as players are able to issue orders to NPCs in real time, but pause the game to queue up actions such as spells and special attacks, a game mechanic from the Baldur's Gate series.[18]
There are three base classes to choose from: warrior, mage, and rogue.[19] These classes can be upgraded into a specialized class such as the berserker or templar for the warrior class,[20] shapeshifter or spirit healer for the mage class,[21] and assassin or ranger for the rogue. The game uses a party system similar to that of the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, another BioWare roleplaying game, featuring the main character with up to three active party members chosen from a pool of NPCs.
The game features a degree of interactivity between spells, such as a fire spell igniting a grease slick before being put out by a blizzard. The game contains many combinations which can be discovered by the player either by accident, or by finding clues as to which combinations are valid.[22]

It will constitute the final chapter in the Tiberium saga. A cinematic trailer for the game was released on July 24, 2009 with many more details revealed in magazines which featured extensive cover stories on the game.[3][4] In addition, Command & Conquer 4 will require the player to be online at all times regardless of whether the player is playing single-player campaigns or skirmishes or online play, however EA is currently considering whether to create an offline mode for players to play the Campaign offline.[5][6] Command & Conquer 4 will also utilize EA's own servers for online play, rather than Gamespy Servers which EA has relied on for Command & Conquer games in the past.[5] A closed beta of the game was officially released to contest winners by EA on November 21, 2009.[7]

[starttext]
The gameplay is similar to that of its predecessor, in which the player is free to roam the game's open world at will without having to focus on the game's storyline, much similar to that of other sandbox style action games, like Mercenaries .
Several new additions and improvements to the game were explained by the lead designer of the game, Peter Johansson. The AI has been rewritten to use a planning system which enables enemies to do all sorts of new things. For example, the enemies will use the environment to their advantage, taking cover behind objects, and adapting dynamically to the objects around them. The hybrid aiming system is also a new feature that helps the player to quickly aim at enemies while leaving the player in full control over the cross-hair; as such, the player is rewarded for skillful manual aiming. It also enables you to pinpoint specific limbs manually and have varied crippling effects on the enemy. Just Cause 2 also has an adaptive difficulty system, gradually scaling the difficulty as the player does more in the game.
The game takes place on the fictional island of Panau, situated in the Malay Archipelago. It is geographically similar to both New Zealand and Hawaii.
There are several new weapons in Just Cause 2, such as a rocket launcher with laser-controlled rockets, a one-handed grenade launcher, remote-triggered C4, and a detachable mounted minigun. There are several new vehicles, including a Boeing 737. There is a greater difference in the handling of different vehicles. Ground surfaces now have a large influence on the player's controls (e.g. while a sports car may be suitable for driving on a flat road, it is not particularly suitable for off-road driving). There is also a real-time deform system and moving parts that can come loose from vehicles.
The player must acquire weapons and vehicles in the field of their own accord, as Rico doesn't have official support from the agency in this game, but later information revealed you can acquire weapons and vehicles off the black market.
Early in the game the player contacts a black market supplier, from whom weapons can be purchased and vehicles and get them delivered to the player's location via heavy drop. As the game progresses, additional weapons and vehicles become available on the black market. Additionally, all weapons and vehicles on the black market have parameters that can be upgraded in several steps, by building upgrades with weapon and vehicle parts. There are over 2,000 parts that the player can acquire.[6]

[starttext] The game is a mascot kart racing game, very similar to other games in its genre like Mario Kart, Konami Krazy Racers and Crash Team Racing. Characters race through various race circuits themed on different Sega franchises and collect power-ups to boost their speed or hamper their opponents. The items have a rock-paper-scissors effect, in which certain items can be used to defend against others. Also, on occasions when players get three of one item, they can choose to fire/activate them at the same time. Additional boost can be earned by successfully executing drifts (with longer drifts earning more boost), or performing tricks while in midair. Like Sumo's previous Sega game, Sega Superstars Tennis, each character has a special ability (called an "All-Star Move") unique to them that they may use to their advantage (such as Sonic transforming into Super Sonic and AiAi riding in marbles), which they can obtain if they are running behind in the race. How long each All-Star move lasts depends on the character's current position. Due to network latency issues, All-Star Moves are not featured in online races.[6]

Vehicles are separated into three different categories: cars, bikes and hovercrafts. As the terrain on the tracks will vary, vehicles can be either assisted or hindered by the surfaces they drive upon. Cars vary in weight and speed, with some performing better on some terrains than others. Bikes have fast acceleration and can also perform ground tricks for extra boost, but can easily be bullied by heavier vechiles. Hovercrafts are not affected by any terrain and are able to perform multiple tricks after a jump, but they have poorer handling and have low acceleration. All of the vehicles also have their own specific engine sounds.

By playing through the game, players can earn Sega Miles that can be spent in the in-game shop to unlock additional content such as characters, tracks, and songs.[7] The game features a total of 24 tracks based on locations from Sonic Heroes, Super Monkey Ball, Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg, Jet Set Radio Future, Samba de Amigo, and The House of the Dead.[8]

There are four single player modes; Grand Prix, Single Race, Missions and Time Trials[9][10][11], whilst modes for split-screen multiplayer, playable with up to 4 players, include Free Race, Arena, King of the Hill, Collect the Emeralds and Capture the Chao.[12] The game also has customizable multiplayer options for up to eight players online (four players on DS version, no online support for PC version).

The soundtrack for the game consists of various old and new tracks from the various Sonic and Sega franchises, though it also features original songs by various artists including Richard Jacques. Each course starts with one track, with more being unlocked as players earn Sega Miles. The Nintendo DS version of the game features MIDI versions of the tracks arranged by Allister Brimble and Anthony Putson of Orchestral Media Developments.[7] The main theme song of the game is "So Much More..." by singer Bentley Jones.[13][endtext]

[starttext]
Although War is initially limited to the use of War's two-handed sword, Chaoseater, he will obtain other weapons through the course of gameplay. Also, each weapon has different combinations of attack that can be obtained throughout the game. Along with combos, players are also encouraged to use countering moves, blocks and swift dodging that help against different enemies. Projectile weapons such as a revolver and a boomerang-style throwing blade can also be used in both combat and puzzles. A number of objects littered throughout the environment can also be used as weapons and projectiles. At a later point in the game, War gains the ability to summon a fiery horse that provides faster movement and much more powerful attacks in open areas. Along with weapon-based attacks, War can use an array of magic-based attacks, known as Wrath, that are both offensive and defensive in nature, with the amount of Wrath available determined through a separate meter below the health bar. Another special attack is the ability to temporarily transform into War's Chaos Form: which makes him large and invulnerable and can cause heavy damage. This form is unlocked after sufficient progress in the game is made, and can be activated once War's Chaos meter is completely filled via combat with enemies.[4]
When enemies are close to defeat, War can perform an elaborate and violent finishing move at the press of the indicated button on screen, instantly killing the foe. Some of the larger foes can be briefly ridden and steered into other enemies before being finished off themselves. War eventually encounters large boss opponents that are both giant in size and deal heavy damage, and are themselves puzzle-based battles requiring certain methods and weapons to defeat, and in some cases quick time button events to dodge or deal attacks.
Upon defeat, different enemies expel souls that provide different benefits. There are three types of souls throughout the world of Darksiders: green souls that fill the health bar, yellow souls that fill the Wrath meter, and blue souls that are the game’s form of currency. These can be spent at "Vulgrim Locations" on things such as new combo attacks, wrath abilities, power-ups, and potions. There are also artifacts scattered throughout the world that can be exchanged for more blue souls, with bonuses for completing each set. Additionally, souls of each color can be obtained by opening chests found throughout the world. Other items that can be located include wrath core and lifestone fragments, where upon collecting four, War's Wrath or Health, respectively, are permanently increased.

[starttext] Blur follows a career mode where the story plays out through email messages sent through numerous fictional social networks, many of which reference more famous online services such as 'Inner Tube' (a parody of YouTube[citation needed]). Here, the player will encounter numerous characters and many licensed cars ranging from Dodge Vipers to Lotus Exiges to Ford Transit Vans fitted with F1 engines, all of which have full damage modelling, a shield bar which can be used at any time by the player to protect the car's health bar from other weapons and separate traits, such as Acceleration, Speed, Drift, Grip and Stability. Some special car models have been designed by Bizarre Creations themselves. There are also some heavily altered versions of familiar urban environments, such as the Los Angeles river half pipe and several parts of London. These areas were altered to make the races more enjoyable instead of the developers having to strictly abide by each twist and turn. The below power-ups and combinations will be introduced at a snail's pace to make the user feel acquainted with each one. Depending on the character(s) the player races against or tags along with in team races, they will have their own racing styles, power-up set ups, match types, locales, cars and will be apart of certain fictional servers. As the player races well, performs stunts and uses power-ups in certain ways during races, the player will gain 'fan points', Blur's equivalent to PGR's Kudos system. These points help the player progress through the career, purchase more cars and parts and earn more fans for the user base. During the career, challenges will take place midrace when the player drives through a fan icon. Completing these short challenges (i.e. find a secret nitro power-up) will reward the player with a fan points boost.[endtext]

[starttext] Gameplay will be similar to the first Super Mario Galaxy, with a focus on platforming based on and around 3D planets with varying sizes and landscapes. Power-ups such as the Bee Suit will be returning, along with the Launch Star for interplanetary navigation and the Airships operated by the villain Bowser and his son, Bowser Jr.

The protagonist Mario will be able to ride the bipedal dinosaur Yoshi, who can use his tongue to swing across gaps, as well as eat different fruits that give him different powers, such as speed boosts or the ability to inflate like a balloon.[6] While the player retains the ability to collect Star Bits with the blue Star Pointer from the first game, while riding Yoshi the Star Pointer is replaced by a red dot, which allows the player to also aim and control his tongue.[7] This can be used for swinging off objects, pulling levers or, like in previous games, swallowing enemies and spitting them out.

New items and gameplay mechanics were also showcased at E3 2009. These include a drill that allows Mario to dig through dirt into new areas (and in some cases explore the interior of planets) and switches that slow time momentarily, indicated by a change to monochrome vision. Players can collect Comet Metals [sic] hidden in the stages to unlock harder levels with tougher challenges.[8][endtext]

Red Dead Redemption is a third person action adventure in a Wild West setting. In order to traverse the varied terrain, many different modes of transportation are included in the game. On foot, the player character can walk, run, jump and climb over obstacles. The player will use other means of transport, such as, the more common riding on horses will be one of the core gameplay elements. The horses created with the Euphoria animation engine will show the realistic muscles and movements of the animals. To fast travel to locations the player can use a stagecoach or train. There are three main regions to traverse; two in the western United States, called New Austin and West Elizabeth, and one on the Mexican border, called Nuevo Paraiso.
Combat and gun-play is a major part of the game. Gunfights in Red Dead Redemption are conducted using a third-person system. The player can slide to cover, target a specific person, blindfire, and free aim. Individual body parts can also be targeted. When the player shoots an AI player the game engine will uniquely created the AI reactions. John Marston has an arsenal of weapons to choose from that include semi-automatic pistols, revolvers, lever or bolt-action rifles, knives, dynamite, molatov cocktail , a lasso and even a mounted Gattling gun.[3] One combat feature that Marston can utilize is a Dead-Eye targeting system that can assist players when facing multiple enemies after a Dead-Eye 'bar' is filled. Dead-Eye is used in a bullet-time like manner so the player can slow down the world to place a precise shot on an enemy. This system can also allow the player to 'paint' shots over an enemy or multiple enemies; when all shots are placed or after a duration Dead-Eye will end and Marston will fire his weapon much faster than usual in a far more damaging fusillade.
Random encounters generate as players explore the countryside, these include hangings, ambushes, pleas for help and animal attacks. Many Mini quests are avalible to challange you in. These mini-games include showdowns, gambling, hunting bounties and animals, cattle herding and five finger fillet. Hunting bounties will earn the player cash upon killing a criminal or taking him to a sheriff alive, which provides a more substantial payment and positive honor. To complete a bounty, Marston can either kill him\her, or take the fugitive alive. Taking fugitives alive may be more difficult for the player, as they must first be weakened with wounding shots and then immobilized by a hog tie. Marston must then travel back to a town, fugitive in tow, and turn him over to the law. Hunting animals is a fairly simple process; Marston must kill the game, skin it, and then sell the skins to a merchant.
An Honor system allows the player to make morality-oriented choices that will make him more or less 'honorable'; usually, the less honorable side is on the wrong side of the law. An example is a group of travelers being held up by highwaymen; Marston can take the honorable path and shoot the robbers, or the dishonorable path and join them, killing the travelers and looting the bodies. Another system that works alongside the honor system is fame, which will affect the weight of Marston's actions and how people react to him, whether he be honorable or dishonorable.[4]

[starttext] An encrypted countdown on the official site showed that more information surrounding the game will be available at 5:00PMEST/6:00PMCST, Tuesday, December 15, 2009. This encrypted countdown has now expired, and has been replaced with a "transmission search". The goal of the user is to find all the transmission coordinates, demarcated by Cybertronian symbols on a dial in the lower-right hand corner. Hasbro and Activision made a press release about the game on December 16, 2009.[12] The press release revealed the game will function as an origin story for the Transformers and will feature separate campaigns for the Autobots and Decepticons. The game will also feature on-line co-op and head-to-head multiplayer. Since the cinematic trailer's release, IGN (along with many other critics) has started calling War for Cybertron the "Batman: Arkham Asylum" of 2010. [13]

In reaction to the many fans who were "irked by the 'Michael Bay-ified insect-like versions'" (dubbed "Bayformers" by those fans) of the Autobots and Decepticons from the 2007 and 2009 Transformers films, the design team has tried to put a "modern polish" on a look that is intended to evoke the feel of the cartoon that launched the series into mainstream public awareness. [starttext]
Borderlands is a first-person shooter that includes character-building elements found in role-playing games, leading to Gearbox calling the game a "role-playing shooter". At the start of the game, players select one of four characters, each with a unique special skill and with proficiencies with certain weapons. The four characters are: Roland the Soldier, Mordecai the Hunter, Lilith the Siren, and Brick as himself.[5] From then on, players take on quests assigned through non-player characters or from bounty boards, each typically rewarding the player with experience points, money, and sometimes a reward item.[5] Players also earn experience by killing foes and completing in-game challenges (such as getting a certain number of kills using a specific type of weapon). As they gain levels from experience growth, players can then allocate skill points into a skill tree that features three distinct specializations of the base character; for example, Mordecai can become specialized in sniping, gunslinging with revolvers, or going rogue and using his pet Bloodwing to assist in kills and health boosting. Players can distribute points among any of the specializations, and can also spend a small amount of in-game money to redistribute their skill points.
Players start the game with the ability to use two weapons, but later gain up to four weapon slots, as well as slots for an energy shield, a grenade modification, and a class modification. Items collected but not used can be sold back at vendors for money that then can be used to buy better items. One of the key features of Borderlands is the randomly-generated weapons and items created either as dropped by foes, found in storage chests about the game, sold at vendors in the game, or as quest reward items. The game uses a "Procedural Content Creation System" to create these weapons and items, which can alter their firepower, rate of fire, and accuracy, add in elemental effects such as a chance to set foes on fire, and at rare times other special bonuses such as regenerating the player's ammo.[6] A color-coded scale is used to indicate the rarity of the weapon or item. It is estimated that the random system can generate over 17 million variations of weapons.[7][8] The Procedural system is also used to create the characteristic of random enemies that the player may face. This allows for enemies of the same species to have widely-varying attacks: for example, variations of "spiderants" in the game could leap around and would jump onto players' faces, while another variant can roll up into a ball and attack people, depending on the content generator.[9]
When in combat, the player can take damage if their shield is depleted, affecting their health. If they lose all their health, they must either wait to be revived by another player or attempt to kill an enemy to achieve a "second wind", or otherwise will be regenerated back at the last "New-U" station that they passed, losing a small percentage of their money in the process. Players eventually gain access to two-passenger vehicles, and can engage in vehicular combat with other enemies. Eventually, a system of fast transit points between the game world is available to the player; until then, players must walk or drive between areas to get around.
The game can be played alone, but also supports two-player cooperative play through split-screen (on consoles), and up to four players playing co-operatively online or over a LAN. The game follows the progress of the host player, rewarding the other active players for completion of quests for their characters. If the other players are doing the same quests in their campaign, the completed quests remain the same in their campaign as well as the host's. When more players are present, the game alters the statistics of the generated enemies, balancing the game due to the larger number of players. Players can partake in one-on-one duels anywhere in the game world to win a small amount of money,[10] or can visit arenas in the game world to participate in free-for-all or 2-on-2 combat battles with their fellow players.[11]
